MEMORIES OF JOHNNY MACLEAN. Canadian, Reel. Canada, Cape Breton. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABB'. Composed by fiddler Jerry Holland (1955-2009, Inverness, Cape Breton) in honor of well-respected fiddler and step-dancer Johnnie "Washabuck" MacLean. He was the son of "Red" Rory MacLean (son of Donald, son of Roderick, a piper and the original immigrant to the island). MacLean played on CJCB radio in Sydney, Cape Breton. His son, John MacLean is a world champion piper and a sought after piping instructor.
