HONORABLE MISS H. ELLIOT'S REEL. Scottish, Reel. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The reel was composed by John(ny) Pringle (born c. 1770), and appears in his first collection, A Collection of Strathspeys, Reels & Jigs (Edinburgh, 1801). The volume was dedicated to Miss Elliot, a member of a prominent Borders family, and the tune (along with the strathspey "Honorable Miss Elliot") was given pride of place in the first page.
