CAILÍN DONN/DHONN, AN (The Brown-Haired Girl). See "Brown-Haired Girl (The)." AKA and see "Collendoon," "Banks of Claudy (The)." Irish, Air (3/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune was recorded in the Belfast Northern Star of July 15th, 1792, as having been played by ten Irish harp masters at the last great harp convocation, the Belfast Harp Festival, held that week. The melody is a variant of the once-popular "Banks of Claudy (The)." See also "Blackhaired Lass (The)," "Dark Gate Girl (The)," and "Dark Haired Girl (2) (The)."

Source for notated version: the 1861 manuscript collection of James Goodman, an Anglican cleric who collected primarily in County Cork [Shields].
