MOUNTAIN STREAM (HORNPIPE) [1]. AKA and see "Athlone (The)," "Bobby Gardiner's," "McIntyre's," "Paddy Killoran's," "Six O'Clock," "Tara Brooch (The)," "Western Hornpipe (The)." Irish, Hornpipe. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. County Sligo fiddler Michael Coleman recorded the hornpipe as "The Western" in New York in 1927. Fiddler Hugh Gillespie (1906-1986), originally from County Donegal, recorded it (also in New York) in June, 1939, as "Mountain Stream" (paired with "Parker's Fancy").
