BOATIN' DOWN THE RIVER. Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, Missouri. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. Beisswenger & McCann find similarities in the 'A' part with "Shippensport/Shipping Port," and to a lesser extent, "Taney County Breakdown" and "A & E Rag"; and in the 'B' part with "Fort Smith" and "Dance Around Molly."

Source for notated version: Gene Goforth (1921-2002, High Ridge, near St. Louis, Mo.), who learned it from Roy Wooliver [Beisswenger & McCann].

Printed sources: Beisswenger & McCann (Ozarks Fiddle Music), 2008; p. 43.

Recorded sources: Rounder CD 0435, Gene Goforth - "Traditional Fiddle Music of the Ozarks, vol. 1" (1999).
