BRAES OF ANGUS. AKA and see "Bridge of Anas." Scottish; Reel, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The melody appears in the [James] Gillespie Manuscript (1768), although Glen (1891) maintained the earliest printing to be in James Aird's 1782 collection (No. 154). However, Robert Bremner's printing of the tune under the title "Bridge of Anas" in his 1757 Scots Reels predates them all.
