FY LET US A' TO THE WEDDING. AKA and see "Bridal (The)," "Blythsome Bridal (The)." Scottish, Air and Jig (9/8 time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. "Very Old" (Gow, 1817). 'Fy' is an expression that can be used as an exclamation, or to mean 'come' or 'hurry'. It appears as a song in William Thomson's Orpheus Caledoneus, vol. 1 (1733) as Song 36, "Blythsome Bridal (The)," whose first line is "Fy let us a' to the bridal."
