BONAPARTE'S MARCH [3]. AKA and see "Battle of Waterloo," "Bonaparte Crossing the Alps," "Bonaparte Crossing the Rhine (2)," "Bonaparte Crossing the Rockies." Irish, Canadian, American; Hornpipe and March. USA, New England. A Aeolian (Roche): A Dorian (Phillips). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. No resemblance to "Bonaparte's March (1)" or "Bonaparte's March (2)"; it appears to be a variant of "Bonaparte Crossing the Alps."

Source for notated version: Elmer Barton (New England) [Phillips].

Printed sources: Phillips (Traditional American Fiddle Tunes), vol. 2, 1995; p. 24. Roche Collection, 1913; vol. II, p. 17, #231.

Recorded sources: John Edwards Memorial Foundation JEMF-105, Elmer Barton - "New England Traditional Fiddling" (1978).
