NIGHT WE MADE THE MATCH, THE (An oidce do rinneamar an reite/cleamnas). Irish, Hornpipe. A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Hans Nathan, in his book about the blackface minstrel Dan Emmett, asserts that strains from this tune contributed to the formation of the popular American old-time tune "Hell on the Wabash" (Bayard, 1981, p. 352).
