EVENING PLEASURES SCHOTTISCHE. AKA and see "Rustic Dance-Scottische (3)," "Mason-Dixon Schottische (The)," "Nightingale (2) (The)." Old-Time, Schottische. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. A fairly widespread schottische melody under a variety of titles, although best known in the United States as "Rustic Dance" or similar sounding titles. Indiana fiddler John Summers played this tune by this name, as did Nebraska fiddler Bob Walters and even North Carolina old-time fiddler Tommy Jarrell. "Evening Pleasures" also was reportedly recorded by English concertina player Alexander Prince (1874-1928), but it does not appear under that title in Wes Williams' exhaustive discography [1] of the performer's issued recordings.
