CARE, THOU CANKER OF OUR JOYS. AKA and see "When the rosy morn appearing." English, Air (4/4 time). E Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA. Chappell (1859) identifies the composer of the tune as John Garth of Durham, who adapted English words to Marcello's Psalms, while the words were written by the Rev. Dr. Grant. In Chappell's time the air was better known as a round from the opera Rosina, called "When the rosy morn appearing."
