BETTY WASHINGTON. Scottish, Strathspey. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Composed by the great Scots composer and fiddler biography:J. Scott Skinner (1843-1927), but only first published in 1979 by Hunter. Betty Washington was a music hall artist, states James Hunter (1988). Washington was an American violinist who entertained on the variety stage playing and dancing. She performed on the London stage in 1916, and was described in newspaper clippings as "dainty".
