OLD STILLHOUSE IS A-BURNING DOWN [2], THE. AKA - "Possum and Taters." Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, Missouri. C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A different tune than Bob Holt's "Old Stillhouse is all Burnt Down (1) (The)." The alternate title, "Possum and Taters," was also known to source Glenn Rickman (although his primary title for the reel was "The Old Stillhouse is a-Burning Down," although he knew that title was also applied to unrelated tunes). Drew Beisswenger (2008) finds the North Georgia band The Skillet Licker's tune "Possum and Taters" (as recorded in the late 1920's in their skit "Possum Hunt on Stump House Mountain") to be a similar tune.

Source for notated version: Glenn Rickman (1901-1982, Hurley, Mo.) [Beisswenger & McCann].

Printed sources: Beisswenger & McCann (Ozarks Fiddle Music), 2008; p. 111.
