OLD VIRGINIA REEL [1]. Old-Time, Breakdown. USA, Texas. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Bayard (1981) notes that a tune called "Old Virginia" is a variant of the Scottish melody "Roy's Wife of Aldivalloch" and "I'm Over Young to Marry (1)," but neither this, nor "Old Virginia Reel (2)," appear to be the tune he was referring to.

Source for notated version: Thomas Michaels (Sweetwater, Texas) [Christeson].

Recorded sources: R.P. Christeson (Old Time Fiddlers Repertory, vol. 1), 1973; No. 84, p. 61.
