BEAUTY IN TEARS. AKA and see "Ash Grove (The)." Irish, Air (3/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Erroneously attributed by O'Neill to blind Irish harper Turlough O'Carolan (1670-1738). Donal O'Sullivan, in his exhaustive study of the bard (1958), chose not to include the melody among Carolan's works.
