BREECHES MAKER, THE. AKA - "The Britches Maker." AKA and see "All Alive (1)," "Breeches Loose (2)," "I'll never gan to the dark cellar ne mair," "Northumberland Lady." Scottish, Air (6/8 time) or Jig. G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A more ornate setting of Irish bard Turlough O'Carolan's "All Alive (1)," although the tune has had numerous other names as well. Northumbrian musician William Vickers included it in his 1770 muisc manuscript collection as "Northumberland Lady." See note for "annotation:Old Grey Goose (1)."
