BLEWITT'S JIG. Irish, Jig. The jig was composed between 1811-14 by the English composer Jonathan Blewitt (1782-1853) while he the musical director at the Theatre Royal, Dublin. It was paired to the words of the song "Barney Brallaghan's Courtship" around 1825-30 by Thomas Hudson (1791-1844) [communicated by Conor Ward].
