LASSES OF LIMERICK, THE. AKA and see "Huggerth the Puss." Irish, Jig. F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB' (O'Malley): AABBCC (Kennedy): AABBCCDD (O'Farrell, O'Neill). The jig is related to the "Gold Ring (1) (The)" family of tunes. It was printed as "Huggerth the Puss" by Scottish publisher James S. Kerr in the 1880's, notes Conor Ward, who finds it also cognate with "Pharroh or War March (The)"/"Watch! Watch! Forward! Forward!."
