HUMOURS OF GLENDART (Sugra Gleanndarta). AKA and see "Cashel Jig (The)," "Custom House (The)," "Darby Gallagher's (1)," "East at Glendart," "Finley's Jig," "Housemaid (1) (The)," "Julia Clifford's," "Saddle the Pony (6)," "Shins Around the Fireside (2)," "Tim the Piper." Irish, Double Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Martin & Hughes): AABB (most versions). Glandart is near the compiler Captain Francis O'Neill's birthplace of Tralibane, west Cork, and it would seem that the 'Glendart' titles are sourced to O'Neill. "Saddle the Pony (6)" is an older title (found, for example, in the Stephen Grier manuscript of County Leitrim, 1883), although, curiously, "Humors of Glendart" is often paired with "Saddle the Pony" in a set in session play.
