DARK GIRL DRESSED IN BLUE [2], THE (Cailín Dub na Eadaig Gorm). Irish, Air (4/4 time). D Major/Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. A variant of "Dark Girl Dressed in Blue (1) (The)." The melody is very close to the American old-time tune "Over the Waterfall."

Source for notated version: James O'Neill [O'Neill]. Chicago Police Sergeant and fiddler James O'Neill (no relation to Francis O'Neill) was originally from County Down. He had a good ear, a large repertoire, and was a skilled transcriber who served as Capt. O'Neill's collaborator on his early works.

Printed sources: O'Neill (Music of Ireland: 1850 Melodies), 1903; No. 403, p. 70.
