LAGAN SLASHERS. Irish, Reel. E Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The Lagan is a river in the north of Ireland that runs through Belfast, but it also refers to the locality of East Donegal/West Tyrone; the word itself refers to 'low-lying ground'. "Lagan Slashers" was contained in a few late 19th century musicians' manuscripts from Counties Leitrim and Longford.
