PARSON IN THE SUDS [2]. AKA and see “Devil in a Bush,” “Kincaldrum's Reel]].” English, Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune appears in print in London publisher J. Johnson’s Choice Collection of 200 Favourite Country Dances, vol. 6 (1751) and in David Rutherford’s Compleat Collection of 200 Country Dances both Old and New, vol. 1 (1756). The melody appears in the music manuscript collections of John Rook (Cumbria, 1842) and Rev. Robert Harrison (Brampton, Cumbria, 1820).
