PEPPER’S BLACK [2]. AKA and see “Kettledrum.” English, Country Dance Tune (2/2 time). A Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. A different tune than “Pepper's Black (1)." Sharp directed in his 1909 Country Dance Tunes that the tune "Kettledrum" be played for the dance Peppar's Black. He sometimes substituted tunes that he liked for others as the vehicle for dances.
