JACKSON'S COOK IN THE KITCHEN. Irish, Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Researcher Conor Ward finds this tune in the Meagher Manuscript, a music manuscript from Gaigue, Ballinamuck, Co. Longford, undated but probably around c. 1900. Ward remarks: "The manuscript includes a number of 'Jackson' tunes most of which correspond to tunes that have already been identified as Jackson compositions e.g. "Jackson's Dream". This manuscript also includes "Jackson's Cook in the Kitchen" which are the first two parts of O'Neill's "Cook in the Kitchen" in a higher key of D."
