DENIS MURPHY'S SLIDE [3]. Irish, Slide. Ireland, Sliabh Luachra region of the Cork-Kerry border. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A popular and well-known slide in County Kerry. Paul de Grae remarks of his late friend Tom Barret (Breathnach's source): "Tom disliked the idea of untitled tunes, and when he later recorded this one he called it 'Bedford Cross' after his native place, near Listowel, where it was a popular tune in his youth."
