WEST'S HORNPIPE. AKA and see “Czar of Russia’s Favorite.” English, Scottish, Hornpipe. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB (Athole, Skye): AA'BB (Kerr). The melody appears as “Czar of Russia’s Favorite” in Ryan’s Mammoth Collection (1883) issued by Boston publisher Elias Howe. Some see similarities to “Morpeth Rant (1).”
