WHEN PETTIE CAME OVER THE GLEN. AKA and see “Night before Larry was Stretched (The).” Scottish, Jig (9/8 time). G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. The tune appears in Robert Petrie’s Fourth Collection of Strathspeys, Reels, Jiggs and Country Dances, published in Edinburgh in 1805. He identifies the tune as ‘Irish’.
