WHEN I PARTED. AKA and see “Trip to Sligo (1).” English, Scottish; Jig. E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. In Irish tradition the tune is called "Trip to Sligo (1)," and, in Francis O'Neill's Music of Ireland (1903), "Lark in the Morning (3)." However, it was a composition of Scottish fiddler-composer John Anderson, c. 1790, as "When I Parted."

Source for notated version: a c. 1847 music manuscript by Ellis Knowles, a musician from Radcliffe, Lancashire, England [Doyle].
