Tune properties and standard notation
DIAMOND [2]. AKA and see "Bobby Casey's Jig [2]," "Hag's Purse," "Little Black Pig," "Roscommon Jig." American, Jig. D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Bayard says this tune is of the "Oro, Welcome Home" family: see note for "Bonaparte Crossing the Alps." It is probably Irish in origin, and in fact, New York researcher, musician and writer Don Meade believes it to be a relative of "The Frieze Breeches."
