G Major (Williamson): B Flat Major (Barnes). Standard tuning (fiddle). One part (Williamson): ABB' (Barnes). Published in Thompson's Country Dances, printed at St. Paul's Churchyard, 1717. The first strain is an 'international strain', according to Samuel Bayard, meaning that it appears on the Continent as well as in Irish, British, and North American repertory. For example, it appears in "Muses (The)," "Zweitritt," "Little Shoes," and "Casey's Hornpipe."
