WHIDDON'S HORNPIPE. English, Scottish, American; Hornpipe. B Flat Major (most versions): G Major (Miller). Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The second strain is something of a ‘floater’, similar to the first strain of “Norfolk Hornpipe (1)” printed in Ryan’s Mammoth Collection (c. 1883) and credited to W.H. Whiddon, and also to that of “Wily Old Bachelor (The).”
