AKA and see "Fairies Jig (The)," "Fairy Jig (3)," "Frainc an Phoill," "Frainc a'Phoill," "Frank of the Hollow," "Gift from the Fairies," “Micky Docherty's Slip Jig," "King of the Pipers (5)," "Port na Shigh." Irish, Slip Jig. Ireland, County Donegal. D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. According to Caoimhin Mac Aoidh (1994), Donegal fiddler Mickey Doherty associated the tune and story with his uncles from the tinkering McConnell clan, and their travelling in and around Teelin, Donegal. It was recorded by the Boys of the Lough as “Micky Docherty's Slip Jig” on their 1978 album “Wish You were Here," while Donegal musicians Frankie Kennedy and Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh gave the title as "Fairies Jig" on their 1987 album "Altan."
