DOHERTY'S REEL [1]. AKA and see "Docherty's Reel," "The Gwebarra (Bridge) Reel," "Johnny Doherty's Reel," "The Killarney Boys of Pleasure," "The New Fashioned Habit." Irish, Reel. E Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The title references the famous County Donegal fiddler, John Doherty (1895-1980) or his brother Mickey, who came from a family of tinkers and musicians who travelled Donegal. However, the tune is usually known as "The Killarney Boys of Pleasure." The "Gweebarra Reel" is often mis-titled "Doherty's Reel."
