AABB (Kerr, Ross): AABBCCDDEEFFGGHHII (Skye). "Prince Charlie's Welcome to the Island of Skye" is a derivative of Irish harper Turlough Carolan's planxty "George Brabazon (2). The melody as printed by Keith Norman MacDonald in the Skye Collection (1887) is more faithful to the original than is the bagpipe march version printed by William Ross (1869) some fifteen years earlier.
