The song "Down by the Glenside" was written by Irish Republican songwriter Peadar Kearney around 1916, inspired by the Easter Uprising, and is often miss-labelled "Bold Fenian Men". That title, however, properly belongs to a song by Irish-American editor, poet and writer Michael Scanlon (1833-1917).
