BOLD FENIAN MEN [2]. AKA and see "Down by the Glenside." Irish, Air. The song "Down by the Glenside" was written by Irish Republican songwriter Peadar Kearney around 1916, inspired by the Easter Uprising, and is often miss-labelled "Bold Fenian Men". That title, however, properly belongs to a song by Irish-American editor, poet and writer Michael Scanlon (1833-1917).
