Irish, Double Jig. A Minor/Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A member of a rather insubstantial Irish tune family with the most common names (usually floaters) given above, which tunes sometimes have stronger resemblance to each other in the first, second, or both parts, according to Bayard (1981). There are several more or less related Irish jigs that bear comparison, including “Old John's Jig," "Young Tom Ennis," "Banshee's Wail over the Mangle Pit," and "Kilkenny Jig (The).”
