Glen (1891) finds the earliest printing of the tune in Angus Cumming's [1] 1780 collection (p. 19). See also note for "Sir John Fenwick's the Flower Among Them All." See also "Dinna Think Bonnie Lassie", a song whose air is borrowed from "Clunie's Reel."
