RAYLEES. English, Reel (cut time). England, Northumberland. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. Composed by Northumbrian piper Billy Pigg (1902-1968) in honor the family home (Raylees) of fellow piper and friend John Armstrong of Carrick. Pigg, Armstrong and Armstrong’s sister, Annie Snaith, played together as The Border Minstrels, joined in 1938 by Archie Dagg.
