NEW LONDON (Reel) [1]. American, Reel or Hornpipe (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Listed here as 'American' only because of the title and the fact that it appears in Ford's 1940 collection. However, the provenance of the tune is British and is the well-known hornpipe "Navvie on the Line" by Tyneside composer biography:James Hill, also frequently called "London Hornpipe (1)." The first strain of "Blue Eyes Polka" is also cognate.
