REEL BLANCHETTE. French-Canadain, Reel. Composed by harmonica player Louis Blanchette (1905-1969), born in Rivière-du-Loup into a farming family whose father played the fiddle. In 1930 he moved to Montreal and began a fairly prolific recording career in the 78 and 45 RPM eras. The reel was also in the repertoire of Louis Beaudoin. Part of this tune resembles the second strain of Omer Marcoux's "Haytime."
