The tune was entered into the 1788 music manuscript book of flute player Ensign Thomas Molyneaux (6th Regt.) of Shelburne, Nova Scotia, and the large 1840 music manuscript collection of Waverton, Cumbria, multi-instrumentalist John Rook.
