REEL DE CHICOUTIMI. French Canadian, Reel. E Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Chicoutimi is a town in the Saguenay region of the Province of Québec. This widespread tune was recorded by Québec accordion great Alfred Montmarquette (1871-1944) in 1928, but was probably an older fiddle tune for country dancing. See also the related 2nd strain of "Reel de Berthier."
