REEL DES SKIEURS (Skiers' Reel). AKA and see "Quadrille indien," "Reel indien (1)." French-Canadian, Reel. G Major ('A' part) & C Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. The tune was recorded twice by Montreal fiddler Joseph Allard (1873-1947); first in 1928 for Victor records as "Quadrille indien," and again, in 1945, for Victor's subsidiary label, Bluebird records, as "Reel des Skieurs." Jean Carignan's title was "Reel indien (1)" on his recording.
