GO TO THE DEVIL AND SHAKE YOURSELF [3]. AKA and see "Get Up Old Woman and Shake Yourself," "Irish Devil (The)," "Tickle Her Leg (with the Barley Straw)." Irish, English; Jig. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. An early printing appears in Dublin musician and music publisher Bartlett Cooke's Cooke's Selection of the Present Favourite Country Dances for the Year 1796 (No. 4). Unrelated to "Go to the Devil and Shake Yourself (1)." The jig appears in the 1840 music manuscript collection of multi-instrumentalist musician John Rook of Waverton, Cumbria.
