ARISAIG CAIRN. Canadian, March (2/4 time). Canada, Cape Breton. A Major/Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. Composed by Cape Breton fiddler Dan R. MacDonald (1911-1976). A small village in Antigonish County, Nova Scotia, near Northumberland Strait north west of the town of Antigonish. The community was founded ca. 1785 by Scottish immigrants who named it after their home, Arisaig, on the west coast of Scotland.
