The title is a reference to a place very near source Grier’s house, called "Newpark," in Gort Leitreach, Farnaught, County Leatrim. Rockfield Lough is a lake within Ireland and is nearby to Derry, Drumcrow South and Derrylane, County Leitrim.

Source for notated version: - County Leitrim fiddler and uilleann piper Stephen Grier (c. 1824-1894), who wrote his manuscripts in the 1880's [Breathnach].
