BIDDY THE DARLING (Bidí an Muirnín). AKA and see "Martin Wynne's," "Rosie Finn's Favourite." Irish, Single Jig (12/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. See also the related "Rosie Finn's Favourite," recorded by the Bothy Band. The tune was collected by Samuel Bayard in fife tradition in southwestern Pennsylvania under the title "Green Cockade (1) (The)." The first strain is also cognate with that of Bayard's Pennyslvania-collected "Rolling off a Log (2)" and the English "Sadler's Balloon."
