ORTON HORNPIPE. English, Hornpipe (4/4 time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Although Lake District musician William Irwin put his name to the tune in his c. 1850 music manuscript collection, it is, as researcher Chris Partington notes, "remarkably similar" to the popular hornpipes "Rickett's Hornpipe" AKA "Manchester Hornpipe."
