EMPTY PURSE, THE. Scottish, Slow Air (6/8 time). B Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC. A note in the Gow's 2nd Collection (1788) says that its provenance is "Irish," and, indeed, it is a version of the minor-key variant of "Daniel of the Sun (3)."
